How We Built a Smarter Security Master from the Ground Up

How We Built a Smarter Security Master from the Ground Up

Entity resolution is one of the most underestimated challenges in financial data. Companies change tickers, switch exchanges, rename themselves, or have multiple listings. If your system can’t tell that AAPL, US0378331005, and BBG000B9XRY4 are the same entity — your insights fall apart fast.

At Finvera, we built a multi-identifier security master that maps across tickers, ISINs, FIGIs, CIKs, and more. This gives you a stable foundation to link disparate data sources, run backtests, or power investor tools — without having to manually stitch identifiers together.

We include historical mappings as well, which means you can run time-sensitive queries with confidence. For example, if a company changed its ticker in 2022, our system remembers that — and aligns your historical data accordingly. That’s critical when you’re trying to compare fundamentals over time or normalize past ratings.

Our resolver is also used internally across every Finvera API. So whether you query our earnings transcripts API using a CIK, or pull insider data using an ISIN, you’ll get consistent results mapped to the correct entity — no ambiguity, no surprises.

For any team building multi-source pipelines or managing portfolio risk across international equities, a robust and flexible security master is a must. We’re proud to offer one of the cleanest in the industry.
