Finvera’s First Hackathon: Innovation in Action

Finvera’s First Hackathon: Innovation in Action

A few weeks ago, we held our first-ever Finvera Hackathon — and it blew away expectations. Over 36 hours, cross-functional teams from engineering, product, and customer success came together to explore what’s possible when you let curiosity lead the way.

We encouraged teams to build something on top of our own APIs. The goal? Invent a new internal tool, prototype a client-facing feature, or simply explore a fresh data interaction. The result: dozens of prototypes ranging from portfolio diagnostics to smart alerting systems.

The winning team built AutoPilot Alerts — a configurable engine that lets users set alerts across multiple Finvera data sources. Want to know when a company misses earnings, has negative guidance, and insider selling all in the same week? You can. The tool used WebSocket subscriptions, a rule-based logic layer, and a simple user-facing config system.

What stood out was not just the product-market fit potential, but the execution. The team designed a working MVP, complete with alert delivery via Slack and webhook integrations. Their demo worked live — and even pulled real-time data from our earnings and insider APIs.

This project is now being fast-tracked into a beta offering. We're thrilled not just by what the team built — but what it represents. At Finvera, we believe innovation comes from within.
